6th Graders and Families,
WELCOME to the 6th grade! I am looking forward to a great year of exciting work and want each of you to know that I am here to help you be successful. Success, not just in schoolwork, but also in life.
On the following pages you will find information that each of you will need to be a “successful student.” The information is regarding daily schedules, school and classroom rules, and classroom procedures. Please read these with your parent or guardian prior to the first day of school.
I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know each one of you individually. If you have questions, please feel free to call or email! Have a great year!
Sincerely,
Mr. Turner

Classroom Clip System
Students will start fresh every day with their clip on green.
If they have an exceptional day, they will have the opportunity to move up 1 square to green and if they have an extraordinary day, they would move to blue. They then could receive a free homework pass for this exceptional behavior.
Students will also move their clip to yellow if their behavior is not appropriate. This will serve as a warning to follow the expected behaviors.
If a student’s behavior continues to fail in following expectations, they will move their clip down to red. The color red will serve for 5 minutes off their recess. In the event that these behaviors would continue a third time, their clip would move down to 10 minutes off of recess.
Keeping in mind the information above, students who are not quiet during hallway movement (going to specials, lunch and recess) will be required to sit silently at lunch. This is a red clip event.
